Police
The Fulton Police Department presently has 27 full time commissioned officers, one records clerk, one-meter enforcement officer and 6 support staff. They also have a 6-man reserve force. Within the department, there is a 7 man Special Response Team, a 4 man Detective Bureau with 2 of these officers assigned to the MUSTANG Drug Task Force and two men assigned to Community Policing. One Officer assigned as a School Resource Officer and two officers assigned as DARE instructors.

Fire Protection
The City of Fulton has is a combination fire department with twenty paid personnel and eight volunteers. Besides the basic fire fighting rescue and suppression duties the fire department has a Hazardous Materials Response Team consisting of 4 technicians and 6 operations personnel. The department has a Dive Rescue and Recovery Team sporting 9 divers
