Life Sciences “Pipeline Supply” Services

The Fulton area and mid-Missouri are targeting specialty contract laboratories that would carry out the high technology/high skill tasks required to test, formulate and manufacture products coming out of the basic research laboratories of client companies (i.e. "pipeline supply" services). This is based on the theory that companies conducting research elsewhere can send their products and data to firms in mid-Missouri for specialized testing, formulation, scale-up and manufacturing. These companies encompass the full range of life sciences specialization, including therapeutic and diagnostic products for both human and veterinary use, crop trait development and testing, and related health care development services.

Mid-Missouri's objective is to increase the investment in building, or by scaling up laboratory and manufacturing facilities to serve the pipeline. The educational base in the region meets the demand for skilled workers that the pipeline requires.

Supporting the pipeline development is an existing base of companies that includes ABC Laboratories, Addison Biological Laboratories, FES, Sinclair Research, Merial Ltd., and others.
