Founded in 1851, Westminster College is a private, selective, coeducational, residential, undergraduate college with a curriculum based on the liberal arts with an emphasis on developmental experience. The College is dedicated to teaching excellence and an education centered on key values (integrity, fairness, respect, and responsibility) that prepares their graduates to become leaders of character. The student enrollment is over 800, and the student/faculty ratio is 16:1.

Missouri provides a well-rounded educational program for the deaf children of the state through the facilities and services of the Missouri School for the Deaf. MSD was established in 1851 and is the oldest state supported school of its kind west of the Mississippi River.
